International Dance Teachers’ Association

The International Dance Teachers’ Association is one of the world’s largest examination boards, covering the full spectrum of dance examinations on a global scale, with over 7,000 members in 55 countries. The Association celebrated its centenary in 2003. 

Council for Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre

In 1979, alarmed at the claims of many so-called vocational dance and musical theatre schools and at the indifferent quality of much of what passed for dance education and training, a number of eminent dance artists met representatives of the leading dance and performing arts organisations. What emerged from those discussions was the Council for Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre, known universally as CDMT.
