“It’s safe to say that I wouldn’t be doing the job I am now if it wasn’t for being a JBD for so long! Joanne instilled a life-long love of performing in me and ever since first performing on stage in my first show (Dance House) at the age of 5, the theatre has been in my blood. Not only did my 13 years as a JBD develop my skills in and love of dance, it also helped build my confidence, resilience and teamwork, all skills which are so important in my job now. My favourite part of my job has always been directing the school musical each year, and my love of musical theatre definitely stems from Joanne! I love being able to inspire other students the way I was so inspired myself. And now not only am I back as a JBD doing both Adult Tap and Adult Musical Theatre, but my son Harris is also now a fully fledged JBD too. Getting to experience his first show with him during Shine was such a proud moment and I love that he gets to experience the same passion I did as a child.”
